Welcome to the POLYAMBER   service information page. We are the premier providers of polyurethane linings. Our goal is to provide you the very best in installing new or repairing existing linings.

Extend the life of your pickups, LDV’s and trailers

POLYAMBER   linings are sprayed onto the load areas of your vehicle, bonding permanently to all surfaces. The tough and flexible linings will withstand impact, abrasion and are highly resistant to spillage of petrol, oil and chemicals.

POLYAMBER   polyurethane linings: Information Sheet

Thickness and Curing time

The load areas of vehicles are coated to the following average thicknesses:

  • Vertical sides                             2-3mm
  • Bottom, tailgate and edges           3-5mm

Polyurethane cures within 1 hour and can be loaded upon after 24 hours.

Why it makes sense to apply a POLYAMBER   polyurethane lining

  • Each lining carries a 36 month warranty against defects
  • It protects the coated surfaces from corrosion
  • It protects goods from damage and stops them sliding about
  • It acts as a sound deadener
  • It enhances the vehicle’s appearance
  • It is easier to keep clean (neither cement nor glue will stick to it)
  • It protects the body from minor dents and scratches
  • It will not oxidise nor give off colour
  • It will not soften when exposed to petrol, oil or diesel
  • It will not deteriorate with age
  • It can be applied in a few hours
  • It is repairable

Advantages of polyurethane as opposed to drop-in liners

  • Drop-in liners allow moisture, condensation and seepage between the bodywork and the liner which leads to corrosion
  • Drop-in liners should be removed periodically to repair chafe marks to prevent corrosion
  • Drop-in liners are not available for all vehicles

Advantages of polyurethane as opposed to rubber liners

  • Polyurethane has no joints to catch and lift
  • Rubber softens when exposed to petrol, oil and diesel
  • Rubber is glued on and can lift allowing moisture to penetrate
  • Rubber will oxidise and gives off colour

Advantages of polyurethane as opposed to rubber mats

  • Mats can be stolen
  • Mats allow grit below and this causes abrasion of the bodywork, leading to corrosion
  • Mats only protect the bottom surface
